Ford – Choose Your Own Adventure #3
It’s almost time to say a sad goodbye to the Ford Territory Titanium that we’ve been enjoying as part of the Kidspot Voices of 2013 Blogger Awards. We had three challenges to create and were given the freedom to “Choose Your Own Adventure”. Allie, Henry & Harry enjoyed taking it for adventure #1 and adventure #2. George, Charlie & I took it for adventure #3.
We are very lucky to live within a few minutes of some very special beaches. At least once during the week and on most weekends you can find us playing on the sand or splashing in the water – usually Balmoral or Manly. Palm Beach is a another beautiful beach on Sydney’s Northern Beaches and a great place to visit with lots to do (parks, cafes, the flat water beach, the sand, the surf beach, boats, rock pools, fishing), but with it being just that bit further to drive we very rarely make it that far. George had never been. So, with the car keys in our hands we decided it was time for George, our #1 passenger, to explore some new territory.
He loved it! With uncle Stu (or Stoo as George calls him) along for the ride to film this little video it was a novelty for all of us. Especially me. Now, normally when I have the opportunity I will always hand the keys of the car over for someone else to drive. Although, with the the Ford Territory, I was always the first to say ‘I’m driving!’. Here are a few reasons why:
- I liked being up high and being able to see what’s ahead of me
- While the car looks big from the outside, it doesn’t feel huge on the inside
- I felt safe on the busy Sydney roads
- It’s very comfortable with lovely leather seats
- The rear view camera makes reverse parking a breeze
- With a very poor sense of direction, the sat nav always had me going in the right direction
- I enjoyed imagining myself in a few years time with more kids in the back seats, driving them around to sport practice
- The DVD player, used for emergencies only, was a sanity saver on a couple of occasions. On a Friday night driving home from work with a tired and hungry toddler who had enjoyed a busy day at daycare, a few episodes of Peppa Pig meant we arrived home without tears or tantrums and more importantly safe and sound.
Challenge #3: Passenger – One Handed Cooks ‘Palm Beach’ Ford Adventure
Of course while we were at Palm Beach, George had to eat. I’d made some delicious Sweet Potato, Carrot, Apple & Spelt Muffins (coming very soon) to take along with us. In his usual style, he demolished them. It was a nice to take some homemade morning tea with us to have with our take away coffees. And with these muffins I knew George was getting some goodness in too.
If you are day-tripping with a picnic or even just simple snacks don’t forget to read our helpful tips on The Travelling Lunchbox.
Note: we were not paid to write this post, we were given a Ford Territory to test drive for the Kidspot 2013 Blogger Awards. This post is sponsored by Ford as part of Voices of 2013.

So cute Jess! I love George at the end “do you want some of my muffin?”. And you are always such a well dressed mama (I continue to look to your style choices… and let’s be honest, try to copy them!).

Thanks Leanne! You’re too sweet. I’m glad you enjoyed the video – we enjoyed a beautiful morning up at palm beach, even went swimming! Amazing weather for winter. Hope to see you soon, Jx
